Welcome to Instructional Technology at the Robinson School

This page has been created as a resource for teachers at the Robinson School. It will be continuously updated as new technologies and applications become available.

What is Instructional Technology?
Instructional Technology is any technology that is used for teaching and learning at Robinson. The uses range from teacher computer presentations to Internet research to Proscope microscopes to curriculum based student projects.

What is the role of the Instructional Technology Specialist?
The Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) works with classroom teachers using the consultative model to integrate technology into the curriculum. In addition to this consultant-and-teacher role, the ITS manages the school computer lab and advises the Principal on school technology needs.

How do students use technology at the elementary level?
The ITS instructs First grade, Multi-Age and Second grade classes on a biweekly basis.  The ITS uses this time to teach the children how to use the programs we have.  The ITS designs lessons that fit within the state frameworks for Technology. In addition to this, teachers and the Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) design additional technology projects based on the curriculum area being taught. The students come into the technology lab with their class to work on a curriculum related project. For samples of projects, go to Technology Lessons.
